You're Going To Be Judged Either Way, So You Might As Well Spend Your Life Doing What You Love
Joseph Pearson

Humans are jealous creatures. You’re going to be judged no matter what you do, so you might as well spend your time doing what you love.

Let’s say you’re a wedding photographer and you’ve just gotten a gig. Another wedding photographer sees your work online, maybe, and instead of congratulating for a job well done, they point out the flaws.

If you took a photo of the dress from a different angle, this would’ve been cooler! How come you didn’t get a photo of x, y, z?

You are going to meet people who are going to do things differently than you do, and that’s why they’re judging you. These people manifest their own insecurities and put them on you. Someone might not “accept” you or what you’re doing – and that’s okay. No one loves everyone and everything. People will disagree with you. Whatever the case, you shouldn’t worry about what other people think of you.

There’s a difference between someone who wants to help you and someone who wants to hurt you. You will face criticism and you will face critique, and the most important thing is to recognize the difference between the two. Those who judge you are those who critique you, too. You don’t want to go on with life listening to people who are just going to bring you down. That’s not the way to live!

Spend time doing what you love, because evidently, that’s what makes you happy, right? As long as it’s not harming anyone, do what you do best.

Do you, boo boo.
