Fitness, or perhaps more accurately the healthy lifestyle and sex appeal inherent in fitness marketing, has always been a mainstay of business marketing and outreach. Now with social media and Instagram, fitness models and fitness influencers play an even more pivotal role in selling fitness products and general lifestyle products.

With this new approach to fitness and the rise of social media, fitness influencers and fitness models are starting to become more and more well-known. Within that fame, they not only manage to visually inspire hundreds of thousands of people who, as stated above, are interested in pursuing a healthier lifestyle, but most of these personalities have platforms that help to educate their audience on nutrition, body positivity, and acceptance of oneself. Fitness models aren’t just models anymore, they are role models, and the more they offer their audience in regard to connection, the more they manage to sell.

30 DAY PUSH-UP CHALLENGE (ok, 28 days…close enough) 💪🏻💥. – I’ve been meaning to do this for months and months and I finally got my butt in gear and made a month-long push-up progression plan for you guys 🙆🏼‍♀️. ⚡️Answering your questions⚡️ What’s my makeup routine/Do I wear makeup to the gym? YES! I sure do. I know this isn’t ideal, but I always have. Years ago it was because I was squeezing my workout in between work and client appointments and didn’t have time to wash before and and Re-apply after. And now I do my filming for you guys at the gym during (or right after😅) my personal workout and I prefer to have a little makeup on haha. That said, I usually keep it very minimal! My makeup routine is a tinted moisturizer/sunscreen all over, a little bronzer along my cheek bones, a little concealer to highlight (and/or cover up and breakouts I’m having), a touch of blush, and a light brow fill-in. That’s it! I also want to note I do have eyelash extensions (which I have had for years and I LOVE, but you need to be careful to go to a certified professional who KNOWS what’s up so you don’t damage your natural lashes). Going to the gym vs. living an active lifestyle. This is a concept and a shift that’s changed EVERY aspect of my life. Back in 2010 I joined a gym. I wasn’t happy with my body, endurance, fitness or strength. I felt pressure to go to the gym after work every day and replicate workouts I’d found online or seen other IG girls do. A lot of these workouts relied on machinery, weights and heavy lifting. After two years of repeating this cycle… I’d essentially gotten nowhere. My physique had actually changed further away from my goals, I was now resenting the gym and I felt defeated. Through years of trial, error, reflection, self development and change… I’m literally a different person. Along with health, nutrition and body confidence, one of my major passions in life is to inspire others to LOVE being fit and active. This DOESN’T mean you have to lift heavy weights, claim the squat rack or use your gyms stair machine. If that’s the kind of workouts that you love then yay!! You’ve found something that works for you. However, for me, I get bored really quickly! I like challenges, fast paced movements and the flexibility to workout at home or outdoors. Let’s talk ABS ‼️ and what you need to do to get abs and SEE those abs. . Commonly asked question: Do you need to do ab exercises in order to get abs? The answer is no. You don’t NEED to do traditional ab focused workouts in order to get abs. If you know how to engage and use your core/abs properly during your strength workouts, you can build abs just by using and engaging your core during strength based moves alone . Aside from that, no matter how many traditional OR non-traditional ab workouts you do, whether you can see them or not depends on a few things. First is: genetics!! Do you have a naturally lean tummy? If so, A. Lucky you 😝 and B. you probably don’t need to do as much cardio in order to reveal those abs and you just need to focus on building core strength. (And eat properly to assist in building that muscle) . If you DON’T have a naturally lean tummy (like me) then that saying “abs are built in the gym and revealed in the kitchen” applies to you. Bummer, I know!! And in our case, often times belly fat is the last to go and the first to come back. It is what it is! 🤷‍♀️ The more you fight against it, the more you push back reaching your goals. So focusing on strength workouts, properly engaging your core, doing cardio (not more than strength training though) AND keeping your meals/macros in check is what needs to be at the top of your (fitness) priority list. . While as you girls know, I do not believe abs are everything, not one bit. But there also isn’t anything wrong with having physical goals *as long as you aren’t putting your mental and emotional health on the back burner* in order to achieve those goals. .
