It was a cold day in New York when H & Co. decided to vlog something a little different: 3 photographers, 1 model. Pojo led the group of photographers Connelly Molnar, Natalia Wajda, and Katie Olsen, and model Kelly Peacock to have a photoshoot in Chelsea.
First stop: The High Line.
Connelly, Natalia, and Katie all had different ideas in mind for how they wanted to capture Kelly in the fierce, White-Witch-from-Narnia coat.
Connelly buried Kelly in the trees and twigs, as if she were in nature, whereas Natalia and Katie wanted Kelly to be natural or fierce in the atmosphere of the city.
The squad made their way into the Chelsea Market, specifically: a grocery store. Each photographer used food as a prop and an inspiration for the photos.
“It’s challenging, but it’s good. There’s really bright lights and also weird shade, but we’re making it work,” Natalia said. She had Kelly hold a pomelo in front of her face, trying to stand in between one of the healthier food sections.
Connelly wanted to embrace the feeling of being a kid, so he had Kelly standing in front of the candy shelf, eating candy.
“Just act…super edgy,” Katie directed Kelly. She captured her smiling in front of a selection of juices and then snacking on nonpareils.
Then, for the last location, the squad gathered on the streets of Chelsea to capture action and lifestyle shots. How could they make Kelly fit with the buildings? How could they make her stand out?
If you were doing a 3 photographers 1 model kind of shoot, think about this: who, what, and where.
Where would you go? Who would you shoot with? What would you use to shoot?
