Creator Spotlight: Michael Snell
We’ve sent videographers out across the country to film creator spotlights on some of our most passionate members in hopes of inspiring our community to live fearlessly. The second spotlight is on Michael Snell, a photographer from suburban Chicago that spent his savings on a vintage Winnebago Camper so that he could spend his days traveling the country and taking photos.
‘When I had the idea to go buy a vintage Camper, most people thought that I was crazy. That my dream of traveling the country was not achievable. One night, I decided that I was not going to let those people tell me what I could not do with my dream. The next day I went out and I put a down payment on my 1992 Winnebago Camper Bus and Wallie was born.
As soon as I was able to make enough money to start buying things for myself, I invested most of it back into travel – taking weekend trips around the Midwest with my friends and just exploring. I never was afraid to put hard earned money into adventuring because I truly treasure the memories that are created on the road. When I picked up photography it fueled me even more to get out and see what was out there.
This year with Wallie I want to share my love of travel with other creatives by hosting lots of unique road trips that are extremely comfortable, affordable, and convenient. Traveling from point A to Point B with me gets you so much more than that. There are countless state parks, small towns and other roadside attractions to explore that you would never know existed unless you drove past them. You have home-cooked meals, no having to get McDonald’s breakfast for the 4th time in a row. Every morning you wake up and step out into the morning light and your backyard could be overlooking the Grand Canyon, the Outer Banks of North Carolina, or the towering Grand Tetons.
Partnering with H allows me to reach the largest group of passionate creators out there and makes it possible to run trips out of any city! I will also be able to host meet-ups in any city with other Core H members bringing a vintage studio with me! I cannot wait to meet so many new people, to grow friendships, and to start new collaborations!’ – Michael Snell
